The expansion of this center in Gdańsk follows the combination of Skywise’s digital solutions with Navblue flight operations solutions into a single, wholly-owned Airbus subsidiary, announced earlier in April. The new Skywise company is designed to address evolving customer needs and ensure resilient operations for both Airbus and non-Airbus fleets in a rapidly changing environment.

This strategy reinforces Airbus’ commitment to the digital future of aviation and positions the Polish office as a European software and aerodata production hub within a global network of expertise located in France, the UK, Canada, the USA, Thailand, India and Singapore. This investment confirms Poland's role as an essential pillar in Airbus’ global digital strategy.

The Gdańsk Center of Excellence will be instrumental in evolving Skywise from a data platform connecting more than 12,000 aircraft in-service, into a core digital solutions company across the domains of flight, technical and ground operations, driving the next generation of aerospace efficiency.

The Gdansk center is currently home to 125 highly skilled experts, and will expand further to meet the increasing demand for data-driven insights and operational optimisation.

Airbus, present in Gdansk via Navblue since 2022, selected the city for this extension because of its recognised local talent ecosystem.

”The launch of the Skywise company marks a turning point in how we support our customers. By unifying our data and digital capabilities with flight operations expertise, we are breaking down the silos between operations. Our expansion in Gdańsk is a key part of this journey; the local talent here is central to developing the interoperable, end-to-end digital solutions that will define the future of a more efficient and a more sustainable aviation.” said Marc Lemeilleur, CEO of Skywise.

The digital sector is the fastest-growing segment across the entire services market, as highlighted in Airbus’ latest Global Services Forecast. Customers require resilient, end-to-end and interoperable digital solutions. The newly created Skywise will be the only provider to do so by combining OEM expertise and digital know-how.

More than just a leading aircraft manufacturer, Airbus ensures customer fleets operate safely and efficiently across the entire lifecycle - from first flight to final retirement - creating value and enhancing customer fleet performance. By streamlining digital services into a single entity, Airbus aims to further support operator efficiency while aligning with its long-term strategy to grow services revenue through digital optimisation and lifecycle management.
