Flight Operations Software
Flysmart+ Administrator Course
This course will train performance and weight & balance administrators on the Flysmart+ environment, user interfaces and administration tools. Through this training, the performance administrator will get the necessary knowledge to contribute to the definition of the performance policy in the airline to properly implement the policy in Flysmart+, and to answer questions from the pilots about the performance applications behavior.
Flysmart+ with Airbus Gateway Course
The EFB administrator will get the necessary training to administrate the gateway web server and workflow to deploy the solution within the airline.
Nsight User Course
The trainee will learn how to use the Nsight tool to process data, access flights and their animation, generate statistical reports and administrate the software all along the Flight Data Analysis (FDA) process.
FODM or Doc Manager – including XML eDOC customisation
The course is designed to provide the airline’s flight operations specialists with the necessary training to use documentation management tools (FODM or Doc Manager) and to customise Airbus flight operations manuals and their own operations manuals in XML format.
ECAM Customisation Course
The course will provide the airline’s flight operations specialists with the necessary training to prepare their Electronic Centralised Aircraft Monitor (ECAM) customisation following the ECAM customisation capability.
Performance and W&B
Basic Performance Engineer Course
The course is designed for airlines’ aircraft performance engineers, who are in charge of the performance expertise and who need to know how to handle the performance software (PEP) to make performance computations, to produce documentation or to carry out specific studies.
Advanced Performance Engineer Course
The objective of the course is to propose to our customers an Airbus view on how to design procedures for specific operations (EOSID, Route study and ETOPS). Organised as a workshop, this course will mix stand-up lectures and practical examples using performance software, topographic and navigation maps.
Dispatcher Training Course
This course aims at bringing to dispatchers the knowledge of the aircraft systems and limitations, the knowledge of the operational documentation, and the knowledge of the performance calculation techniques. This course also proposes a specific training course for airlines operating in ETOPS conditions.
Weight & Balance Engineer Course
This course aims to introduce the Airbus method to design the weight & balance operational documentation (balance chart, AHM560/565). The training also presents the Airbus aircraft weight limitations and the center of gravity limitations to check and to operate the aircraft.
Load Control Transition course (Passenger / Freighter)
This course is designed for qualified Load Controllers or Load Planners to get familiarised with the Airbus aircraft loading capability and specificities.
Safety management
Operator Safety Management System
The course aims at providing operators with knowledge on safety fundamentals and best practices to run an effective airline’s Safety Management System (SMS). The four SMS elements (safety policy and objectives, safety risk management, safety assurance and safety promotion) are reviewed through an airline’s organisation.
Flight Data Analysis (FDA) Safety Analyst Course
The trainee will get the necessary knowledge to conduct an efficient FDA within a safety department. This theoretical module is complemented by a practical workshop using Nsight and the training database. The purpose is to understand the techniques of investigation (from a single occurrence or statistics) and how such techniques are efficiently used to lead an FDA process integrated within the operator’s SMS.
The XG15A1 course is designed for : authorities, auditors and operational managers to cover dedicated theoretical modules (without practical training) in a one-day training.
Threats and Error Management
This course equips pilots to conduct "Line Observation Monitoring" based on Threat and Error Management (TEM) principles. Strictly distinct from TRI/TRE line checks, the program combines theoretical modules, workshops, practical observations, and debriefings. Trained observers can also train their peers to help scale the airline's monitoring activities.
Risk Assessment in Practice – Runway Excursion
This course delivers a robust risk assessment methodology for runway excursions, a major industry risk. It is designed for all aviation safety professionals, including safety managers, analysts, and authority auditors.
Fleet technical pilot
This course provides the designated technical pilots with knowledge on airworthiness, continued airworthiness, maintenance, flight operations engineering, safety management system (SMS), datalink and ADS-B so they can act as a focal point in their organisation. The following topics are covered:
- Airbus answer to regulations to manufacture aircraft
- Continued airworthiness with maintenance & engineering, aircraft configuration/mixed fleet flying, release to service (documents, process)
- Managing documentation and communication with pilots
- Management of operations manual, customisation of the manual
- Fleet difference traceability and communication to pilots
- Performances and routes study
- Safety Management System (SMS)
- ADS-B and datalink
The course is also open to flight operations engineers with significant experience.
Fuel and flight efficiency
The objective of the Fuel and Flight Efficiency course is to provide participants with all relevant information to establish and/or enhance a fuel program in their airline regardless of previous experience in the subject.
The course will cover:
- Which initiatives can be implemented
- When and how such initiatives are best employed
- What are the expected savings
- The need for robust and precise flight planning
- Fuel efficiency through airspace design
- Maintaining and promoting a successful fuel program
- Benchmarks, quick wins and return on experience
- How and which tools will help in an airline fuel program, today and in the future.
The course is intended to provide a broad educational experience and is aimed at all staff with a role in the fuel and flight efficiency subject at the airline; this will mainly be for (but not limited to):
- Dedicated Fuel Managers or those responsible for fuel efficiency programs at the airline
- Flight Operations Engineering
- Flight Planning
The overall training session was a great experience. The topics discussed, the structure, as well as the delivery of the entire course were very useful and engaging. I would definitely recommend this training, especially to professionals who are at the beginning of their fuel program, but also for more experienced ones, who are looking to enhance their knowledge in the specific topic.
